The Nitty-Gritty
We’re delighted that you are participating in TIES, and hope that you very much enjoy the program. Below are some of the details that will hopefully make the experience run as smoothly as possible:
- All Zone Tri-Met passes are available to participating teachers for the month of July.
- To protect patients, employees, contractors, volunteers, students and animal assets of the university, all employees, contractors, volunteers and students must be screened for TB. This two-step skin testing is required if a TB skin test has not been applied within the last 12 months. Detailed information will be provided at the orientation for TIES teachers.
- A variety of online training modules must be completed by all teacher participants prior to the July sessions at OHSU. Detailed information will be provided at the orientation for TIES teachers.
- The TIES stipend of $1600 is paid in three installments – the majority at the end of the TIES summer program (on receipt of the final profiles), with the balance at the two call back days.
- The profiles are due at the end of the summer program; the classroom activities are due by the end of the school year that follows the summer program.
- Both profiles and classroom activities will be posted on this website and will be publicly available.
- Participation in TIES entitles teachers to one content credit at Lewis & Clark College; if you are interested in graduate credit please contact us at scied@ohsu.edu
