TIES Partners

TIES has close links with a number of educational organizations:

The OHSU Office of Science Education Opportunities works to develop and mobilize OHSU's unique resources to increase science literacy throughout the region. The TIES program is run through this office.

Northwest Association for Biomedical Research is dedicated to promoting public understanding of the implications and applications of the process of biomedical research. Our members come from industry, academia, health care, and voluntary health organizations. All are stakeholders in the continuing search for cures and treatments for diseases affecting people and animals.

The Classroom Law Project helps students learn to be informed and active citizens in a free democratic society.

Oregon Zoo is our partner for fieldtrips.

Lewis & Clark College faculty from the Graduate School of Education teach in the TIES program. Lewis & Clark also offers Continuing Education credits for your participation in TIES.

The Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) Program funds grants for innovative educational programs. SEPA projects create partnerships among biomedical and clinical researchers and K-12 teachers and schools, museums and science centers, media experts, and other educational organizations.

NAHSEP (the National Association of Health & Science Education Partnerships) is devoted to improving pre-college health and science education. NAHSEP is a partnership program that includes many universities, museums, research institutions, and medical schools throughout the country.

The National Institutes of Health Office of Science Education (OSE) coordinates science education activities at the NIH and develops and sponsors science education projects in house. These programs serve elementary, secondary, and college students and teachers and the public.
